A hundred miles through Tennessee woods on a course designed to be failed, thirty-seven miles of public road on the Isle of Man with the hedges still in place, three weeks of France at the limit, and Ali and Foreman in Kinshasa at four in the morning. Nobody is sneaking up on anyone here: the whole world is watching and the date was set years ago.
