Fielder decides that airline crashes keep happening because first officers will not contradict their captains, and sets out to prove it: a replica cockpit, a cloned singing contest, and eventually a real Boeing 737 with him at the controls. It is the most elaborate joke on television and also a serious argument, and it is never clear which one he means.
